Shame On You, If You Are A Teacher Or A Lecturer Who Boast That People Should Fail Your Course

Selorm Branttie, the Vice President of Policy Think Tank, IMANI Africa, has commented that if you are a teacher or a lecturer, and you are confident with saying people should necessarily fail your course just because it’s prestigious, then shame on you.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 15th August 2022, he said that, It’s insensitive and an insult to all the students who have spent years, time and money to Chase the dream of an education.

Secondly, it shows that there are clear deficiencies in your approach to teaching because you aren’t teaching to improve the young ones, but to encourage discrimination

“It shows that you are a thief and a fraud because you intend on not earning your keep, but rather filling your bellies at the expense of your hapless students.

We are only perpetuating a colonial mentality where the white man pick and chose who he thought was good enough or docile enough to serve him and his whims and caprice, and ro become the Head Negro In Charge to put all the other fussy niggas in their place.” Selorm said.

Selorm alleged that, it is exactly what the Ghana Bar Association head is shamefully doing, as if there is some secret brotherhood that has initiation rites, and not a profession that should seek to ensure that justice is available to all those who are in need of it through the purveyors of justice and jurisprudence.

Africa, and Ghana, can never have enough doctors, engineers, scientists etc. Because in the race to knowledge in this century, we are already so far behind, and economically so far behind, that our pride of place should be to produce more knowledgeable ones to ensure that we can stand a competitive chance.

These are Ghanaian lawyers not willing to innovate and grow and still stick to precolonial mentality. Even Kwame Nkrumah on building the law school had an objective, that we train these people to empower the black man, yet this vision has been hijacked into a corrupt enterprise aided and abetted by the same corrupt institutions that society is even beginning to fight against.
