CHE 2-2 TOT: Best And Worst Players From The Game As Poor Referee Decisions Deny Chelsea A Win

Chelsea and Tottenham played out a pulsating draw in a classic London derby at Stamford Bridge as tempers flared on and off the pitch.Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were both sent off as tempers flared after Harry Kane’s last-gasp equaliser earned Tottenham the unlikeliest of points in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Referee Anthony Taylor was heavily criticised by Thomas Tuchel after missing a foul by Cristian Romero on Marc Cucurella for Spurs’ equaliser.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel slammed referee Anthony Taylor and VAR for their decisions in a 2-2 Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, saying his side deserved to win. He added that new signing Marc Cucurella had had his hair pulled by Tottenham centre back Cristian Romero shortly before Kane’s dramatic leveller.

In that sense, both clubs could actually take genuine positives from the game. Chelsea should have won – and probably won well – and in that offered a superb performance that showed they shouldn’t have been so dismissed for the top four. They remain the real deal. Spurs meanwhile should have lost.

Chelsea wasted several chances to increase their lead with Raheem Sterling blazing one great chance over and it was easy to understand Tuchel’s frustration when Hojbjerg levelled. Havertz then spurned a glorious chance to put Chelsea back in front but the hosts did reclaim their lead when the excellent James fired past Hugo Lloris from a pass by Raheem Sterling — a goal that sent Tuchel joyfully racing down the touchline.

Kane’s dramatic equalising goal should never have happened. It should have been a free-kick out. VAR, at the very least, should have spotted it. It was remarkable it didn’t. Anthony Taylor should have got the call. As for me I think Chelsea was robbed.
