The NPP is uncertain about who becomes the flagbearer, unlike the NDC, it is not secret to suggest, the former president John Dramani Mahama would be given the nod.
According to a Mr Kwame Okyere DARKO (KOD), a business consultant and social commentator, the best bet for the running NPP is the controversial member of parliament, Kennedy Agyepong, who in his view has the boldness and stature to govern.He made this assertion on Saturday 13 th August, during TVXZ “Abranaso ” talk show hosted by Okaakyie Afrifa Mensah.
The business consultant further argued that the the two leading contenders who are Dr Mahmoud Bawumia and trade minister Alan Kyeremateng are so much soiled up, and are tied up to their “God fathers” that they would not be able to master the boldness and courage to make decisions when in government.
The NPP is set to choose a flagbearer for the 2024 elections, and it appears the party members are tilted on the two contenders, however other faces like Kennedy Agyepong, member of parliament for Assin central and others are gearing up for the race.
