EPL Saturday: Salisu Mohammed And Tariq Lamptey Get Playing Time As Their Clubs Fail To Win

Following mixed results that went the way of some Ghanaian players in the opening games of the English Premier League, they had the opportunity to make amends as the league entered the second week.

After putting a ball in his team’s net, there were scores of anxiety that Black Stars defender Salisu Mohammed could lose his position. That howler could not sideline him from the line up that was presented by Southampton manager. Salisu Mohammed lasted the entire action as they played 2 – 2 with Leeds United. Even though the team conceded, but the goals did not arrive as a result of Salisu Mohammed’s blunder.

At Brentford, Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey had some minutes for his side despite starting the game as a substitute. Similar things occurred last weekend when his Brentford snatched all points at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Today’s game between Brentford and Newcastle United ended in a stalemate, as the former played at home.

Salisu Mohammed and Tariq Lamptey recently announced their decision to play for Black Stars of Ghana. They have an equal chance of being selected for the global football tournament in Qatar later this year. Their maiden call up into the national team is imminent.
