Mischief against Chief of Staff and her Son falls flat

Some mischievous elements within and outside government are all out to run down the chief of staff (CoS), Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, with frivolous and unsubstantiated allegations.

What is making the whole agenda murky is the fact that the dirty elements have on this occasion roped in the family of the chief of staff into their game.

The story of the mischief makers has been packaged in a nice manner that Nana Osei, the son of the Chief of Staff, is said to be involved in some kind of deals at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited.

But it is turning out that the young man does not have any dealings with BOST for whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, Nana Osei does not engage in any form of business with the strategic state entity and he is not even known within the corridors of BOST.

The son of the chief of staff does not work with BOST and it is therefore absolute balderdash for anyone to suggest that tanker drivers pay some GHC6,000 to him per every load that leaves BOST’s loading points in the country.

Again, the claim that tanker drivers mentioned the false collection of GHC6,000 as part of the reasons for their recent strike, is nothing but a cooked story, as the striking tanker drivers did not even mention BOST anywhere as part of their reasons for the strike.

It is instructive to note that tanker drivers only pay legitimate fees at BOST and nothing else.

There have been several attempts in the past to drag Mrs. Osei-Opare’s name into the mud, but they have all failed.

The first female chief of staff in the history of Ghana is seen across the nation’s political divide as someone who brings dignity to the Office of the President.

When President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won his second term, there were well-tailored agenda to impress upon him to change the chief of staff, but all those machinations would not work.

The latest agenda was commenced, following calls by sections of Ghanaians on the President to do some reshuffle.

What is making the present agenda extremely grubby is the fact that the otherwise peaceful and diligent son of the chief of staff is being used as the springboard to get at the mother.
