The sudden death of loved ones in a tragic accident is unbearable and unforgettable, a day of sorrow is longer than a month of joy. You just don’t lose someone only once. When the forgotten memory momentarily flashes through your mind, fresh waves of grief hits you once again. It is a painful experience that nobody deserves to go through.

An accidents was reported a few days ago at the Elmina-Komenda Junction road in the Central Region when a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number WR 1347- 17, crashed head-on with a DAF Truck with registration number GM 2570-12. On the spot, 14 people were reported dead and all of these casualties were passengers of the bus.

According to eyewitnesses, the trailer which was loaded with cement was overtaking vehicles along the stretch in an awkward manner. The driver is said to have had his vision blocked due to smoke from a burning bush and that compelled him to run the truck into the bus.

Joynews this evening granted an interview to the sole survivor of the bus who is currently on admission at the hospital. Narrating her ordeal, the lady indicates that she was sitting behind the driver and all of a sudden saw the bus engulfed in thick smoke. Immediately, she heard a big bang and she didn’t see anything again.

She later regained consciousness only to realize what had transpired and she remains the sole survivor of the scores who perished. Well-wishers visited her and prayed for her at the hospital.
