One of the issues that keeps persisting in our country and even some African countries is tribalism. Tribalism has caused so much harm to the growth and development of countries, communities and many other societies or businesses and organizations. The reason is that some ethnic or tribal group sees themselves as good and the other, bad.
This notion has been passed on from descendants to descendants. And it is high time we put an end to this. It is dangerous and can do more harm than anticipated. Tribalism has led to the loss of lives, destruction of relationships, loss of loved ones and underdevelopment in our country.
The Ashantis have been accused of being one of the most tribalist groups in the country. Kelvin Taylor commented on this and revealed that the Ashantis are refusing to reason during elections.
During this delivery which is ongoing on his loud silence broadcast platform, he stated that the Ashantis are always being tribalistic and voting for their own and even getting disappointed in the end.
However, he advises the northerners especially who have had serious hack and forth with the Ashantis who claim to be the most powerful to vote for a change and a party that can transform them.
And this is because the Ashantis that the Npp are presenting will win power and neglect them like they always have. These comments are tribalism-inciting comments and can cause more problem than probably assumed by Kelvin Taylor himself.
Preaching about tolerance and unity will be better if he avoids creating the notion that these group of people will forever be against each other. It will only breed hatred and lead to a more intense build up of grudge and misunderstand between these two groups. There is enough divisions already, the last Ghanaians would want is these unnecessary opinions on tribalism.
