Gov’t Appointees Reshuffle: Akufo-Addo Has A Poor Judgement – ASEPA

President of Ghana, His Excellency Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo speaking in an interview on Tamale-based North Star Fm, said he is not reshuffling his appointees, especially the ministers because they have performed to the mark expected of them.

Speaking on Opemsuo Radio with Agudey, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mr. Mensah Thompson stated that President Akufo-Addo has poor judgement to conclude that his ministers have performed to the mark and satisfaction whiles things are getting out of hand.

According to him, there are shortages of food in Senior High Schools, huge buffer stuck debts, external debt, poor economic growth, poor and downgrade records coupled with high standard of living in the country.

These are all indicators that the country is not in good shape and that ministers heading ministries have to be reshuffled for more requisite personnel to take over but the poor judgmental sentiment of president Akufo-Addo has led him to be satisfied with the performance of his appointees. Mr. Mensah Thompson said Ghana’s debt has risen to USD 750 million which if we are unable to pay will jeopardize our economy to the standard of that of Sri Lanka.

He emphasized that the president must listen to the people of Ghana who voted and entrusted him with the highest office of the land as the president.

The ASEPA CEO reiterated that Ministers like Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Roads and Highways Minister, Amoako Atta, and others have performed abysmally and must be reshuffled.

He said, the president charged Ghanaians to remain citizens and not spectators but whenever Ghanaians put on the citizenry status to pour out their grievances, he sees the citizens as oppositions and enemies.

According to him, the president has exhibited the highest level of poor judgement to sensitize the call for reshuffle as “destabilizing” his government or for “employment purposes”. “If he refers to these people as the NDC, you should know that they want the best for you and the country at large”.
