Adwoa Safo’s Husband Came To See Me On That Fateful Day – Majority Leader Reveals

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader was in the studios of TV3 today for the New Day morning show. He shared insights on Parliamentary work and his role as Majority Leader. Osei Kyei mentioned that he has been one of the unifying figures in the 8th Parliament. He boldly stated that no Majority leader from the NDC side ever invited the Minority Leader to his office for consensus like he does.

Osei Kyei also talked about his disappointment with Adwoa Safo. He explained that he had so much hope in Adwoa Safo especially since she was once her Deputy. He opened up to the Majority in Parliament’s call for the seat to be declared vacant. He said the Majority want Speaker Bagbin to apply the law.

Interestingly, Osei Kyei Mensah mentioned that he is so free with the Safo family that even on the day that Parliament had to decide the fate of Adwoa Safo, her husband was in his office. Berla Mundi probed to know what Adwoa Safo’s husband was doing in the office of the Majority Leader. Though the Majority leader refused to give details, he explained that they discussed family issues and Adwoa’s status as MP.

“As a person am not happy. Adwoa has once been my deputy and I know her potential. Even that day when the determination came before us in Parliament, her husband came to me. In the morning. I will not discuss that. We discussed family issues, this same matter and other related issues,” Osei Kyei Mensah explained

Though the reason for the visit is not clear it will not be surprising that the MP’s husband wanted a way out, but it seems the Majority side were fed up and had drawn a verdict which they felt couldn’t be overturned. On the last day of sitting before Parliament went on break, the Majority wanted Bagbin to declare the Dome-Kwabenya seat declared vacant, but Bagbin chose to defer a ruling till Parliament resumed.
