There is a reason why our ancestors said “when the water keeps long in a bottle, it stinks”. After six long years of this government in power, many inhabitants of Kwabre East have witnessed a very bad state of their town. It is this state of affairs that has compelled Nana Mampontenghene to face down on politicians and called upon the President to come to their aide.
Massive demonstrations have been organized today against the government for neglecting the people concerning providing basic infrastructure in the communities. Berma Saasi Yeboafo II spearheaded the demonstration and spat fire at the authorities over deplorable roads in his area.
Per the assertion of the chief, Kwabre East, the World Bank of NPP deserves better for all the votes they give to the party. Sadly, they are the most deprived in terms of development, and the capital Mamponteng has no single tarred road or a well-equipped health facility.
The Municipality can’t even boast of a single public senior high or a purposeful project and the market has been abandoned. All of these inactions on the part of government representatives at the local level whose responsibility it is to ensure all of these things are done are the reason why the people are angry.
It takes a Politician with policy initiative skills, a clear understanding of rural-urban development, and the economic empowerment of the people, to appreciate the significance of fixing the roads.
Scores of the indigenes who wore red attire to signify their displeasure gathered at the palace and hailed Nana as he concluded by demanding immediate action from the President to address the issues raised.
