See Shatta Wale Reaction To His RIAA Gold Certification

Top Ghanaian dancehall musician and SM boss, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, known within the showbiz circles as Shatta Wale has bagged a major career milestone.

You would recall that in 2019, globally recognized singer, songwriter, producer and actress, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, better known by her stage name, Beyonce recruited the Ghanaian superstar on a record tagged; “Already”.

The beautifully crafted single, ‘Already’ which also features Major Lazer happens to be a single off Beyounce’s star-studded studio album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ and was featured in the 2020 film ‘Black Is King’.

On Monday, August 8, 2022, ‘Already’ was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after garnering over 500,000 unit sales in US. This feat makes Shatta Wale the first Ghanaian act to be gold-certified.

Well, the Ghanaian dancehall act, Shatta Wale has taken to his official social media page to react to this latest milestone. In a post via his verified Facebook page, the ‘Hajia Bintu’ hit-maker stated that, those who doubt this latest achievement should continue to argue. “Ok let dem argue… Ade Amerrica”. The Recording Industry Association of America Gold and platinum certification program was created to honor artists and track sound recording sales. It has also become the benchmark defining success in the recorded music industry.

The song, ‘Already’ won the 2022 Best Collaboration of the Year award at the 18th Urban Awards and 6th annual AEAUSA. In 2020, the song won Best Collaboration at the 2020 BreakTudo Awards.
