Election 2024 is generating wild assertions and hot revelations about what is expected as the days swim into months and months gear into years pushing the day of the election into realism.
An excellent demographic analysis is critical for every election campaign and the two main parties need to know how they are faring among the blocks.Â
The April and July 2022 national opinion polls show the NPP trailing NDC in both support as 39% of male voters support the NDC compared to 37% for the NPP. The female voters, female voters support the National Democratic Congress [NDC] with 38% compared to New Patriotic Party [NPP] with 35%.Â
Note that support for the parties does not automatically translate into voting for the party’s candidates as support crosses the carpet or defects to vote for individual candidates.
This demographic understanding will also be crucial for the parries when crafting their manifestos and campaign strategies.
