NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman To Be Suspended?

The Ashanti Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is allegedly billed for suspension from the party. According to information circulating online, Nana Kwasi has been found guilty of misconduct contrary to the constitution of the party. A committee of inquiry has therefore recommended his suspension alongside the regional secretary Kwame Zu and one other.

However, the reports suggests that powerful hands are on deck to turn things around.

The information was published by Accra fm journalist Kwabena Bobie Ansah on his Facebook page intercepted by CitizenOne. The host of ‘The Citizen show’ on Accra fm who has not hidden his love for John Mahama alleged that, his intel has it that a meeting was held on Wednesday to discuss how the report could be altered to exonerate the chairman but was inconclusive.

“The Ashanti Regional NDC Council of Elders and the Committee set up to investigate allegations made against the regional chairman and others have recommended the suspension if Chairman Nana Kwasi, Kwame Zu and one other.

Now, is it true that there is pressure on the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders to set aside their recommendations? Is it true the secretary to the council of elders Mr. Johnny is under pressure to sign an edited report which is reportedly seeking to exonerate chairman Nana Kwasi? Actually I hear they met somewhere last week over this but the meeting ended inconclusive.

My point is why should the NDC allow individuals with personal interest to derail the forward match of the great party and the rescue mission for Ghana?”, Bobie stated in parts in his post.

Background information

Chairman Nana Kwasi was accuses by a section of NDC supporters for campaigning for Chairman Wontumi during the regional elections. An official petition was sent to NEC to investigate and sanction Nana Kwasi.

The General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia followed up by forming a committee of inquiry to look into the allegations. For three months, nothing was head about the issue.
