A member of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti region, Nana Kofi Frimpong, has fumed at the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo, over his silence and failure to act on many issues of corruption and non-performers,
According to Mr. Nana Kofi Frimpong, the President’s posture seriously disgraces the New Patriotic Party. He explained that many wanted to tag the President as someone who virtually wanted to collapse the party and go on retirement. He noted that the failure of the President to act swiftly to some of these allegations against his appointees is seriously justifying the claims of the people who believe he’s destroying the party.
He touched on several issues that are going on currently that Ghanaians expected the President to have acted in similar fate as other former presidents did in the past, yet the president has refused to act. He questioned, “why the President is disgracing the party like this.”
Mr. Frimpong said before Nana Addo became President, the president’s posture looked like someone who did not condone or connive with corruption. He argued that the effort of people who sought various reasons to discredit him before becoming President as a corrupt person did not amount to anything. He further stated that he seriously believed that the president would not condone any kind of nonsense about corruption. But that is not the case as of now.
Nana Frimpong argued that the anti-corruption soldier stag on Nana Akufo-Addo is not the story today of the president of the Republic of Ghana. He said the posture of the President is a severe disgrace to the party and can harm the party’s future chances of maintaining power.
