Photo of the Mad Woman who stoned a young guy at Kwame Nkrumah Interchange pops up. See her cry

A video circulating on some online channels shows the lifeless body of the yet-to-be-identified young man lying on the ground with numerous anxious bystanders rushing to catch a glimpse, amidst wailing.

The said mentally ill woman is reported to have been terrorizing pedestrians and drivers since the early hours of Monday at the overhead near the trotro stations, to the extent that she allegedly smashed the windscreens of four moving cars on the road and wounded several persons.

This is the mad woman that stoned a guy to death on August 1 at circle.

It took the swift arrival of personnel from the Nima District Police Headquarters to avert the lynching of a woman believed to be mentally challenged after she allegedly killed a young man believed to be in his 20s.

The bloody incident is reported to have occurred on the 2nd tier of the interchange on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. An eyewitness explained that the woman is known usually for pelting stones at moving cars on that stretch.

In an attempt to get the woman to stop that act, the deceased also pelted her with stones as they were both seated across the street, only to realize that she had overpowered him.

It went on for a while until the deceased left to attend to other things. In an hour, he came back and slept on the pavement. The woman saw him and perhaps, decided to take revenge by stoning him which led to his death. The woman reportedly hit the deceased’s head with a cement block, causing his death on the spot.

The police officers deployed to the scene managed to handcuff the woman and send her to the psychiatric hospital for examination.

The incident reignites the long raging conversation about the need to get rid of mentally challenged people from the streets of the country as some of them get hostile sometimes.

My question is, why couldn’t anyone go there to try and stop the act.. fear… I understand.

And Yes, there was nobody close enough to do so, except the okada that drove away.

Again, I understand that where the incident happened (overhead) has only cars and bikes passing there which explains why there wasn’t anyone walking around at that moment.

But… if someone, anyone could have tried another means of getting there the guy wouldn’t have lost his life in such a cruel state. Yes, it didn’t happen in a second, it was over time. But even though the guy would have been hurt badly by the time people got there, it was better than having people stand there, record, and watch.

It is funny how people would have rushed to join if a thief was being ambushed and beaten to death.

Should we be scared of how social media has turned society into? How we prefer to watch some acts, and scenes and record them than trying to put a stop to them.

Whatever the guy did to the mad woman, he didn’t deserve this. To be killed in his sleep. Rest In Peace Dear One.
