“This Is Naked Thievery”; Sammy Gyamfi Drops Fresh Allegation About The E-levy; Ghanaians React

The National Communications Officer for the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has dropped some allegations against this NPP government concerning the E-levy.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, Sammy Gyamfi revealed that the E-levy is not supposed to be charged on the first threshold of ¢100 made in a day. He however made it clear that the NPP government seems to have changed the system and they are now charging almost every transaction which is less than ¢100. He described this act as “Naked Thievery.”

Even more bizarre and pathetic is the fact that the counter productive e-levy is sometimes charged on the first ¢100 sent by some Ghanaians to their loved ones in a day despite same being exempted under the e-levy Act.”

This is naked thievery being perpetuated by the Akufo-Addo government against already impoverished tax payers.” he said.
