Another Big Strike Loading In Ghana

The Republic of Ghana; in the second term of the Nana Addo-Bawumia led NPP Government, is currently in a state of chaos.

The situation is currently the cause of the numerous hardships in the country; and also the reason for the many demonstrations by the youth; and strikes by workers in the country.

In this year 2022 alone, the country has witnesses many strikes and demonstrations. which includes the recent strike by pre-tertiary teacher unions in Ghana (On Monday, July 4, 2022), over the payment of their 20% cost-of-living allowance (COLA); and also the street protest by the Arise Ghana Youth, over the high cost of living in the country.

The latest information coming has revealed that, another big shrike is loading.

The information; which was revealed by 3news.com states that, “Members of the Gas Tanker Drivers and Petrol Tanker Unions , have served notice to embark on sit down strike starting Monday August 1. This is due to the poor condition of service, they are going through”.

3news added that, “a statement they issued indicated that, they are not paid salaries, and even when salaries are paid, the monies are meagre and incommensurate with the workload”.

According to the report, the Members of the Gas Tanker Drivers and Petrol Tanker Unions, have made their grievances known to authorities; but no action has been taken, hence the upcoming strike.
