I lost my account and thanks to the management of Opera News, am back again and thanks for clicking on this article as am here to share with you a viral video of what happened in the parliament during the mid-year budget review by the Finance Minister. The Finance Minister, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta has presented the 2022 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament for approval. The review, which did not see a request for new funds, noted the current macroeconomic figures that have suffered in recent times. It also announced a return of road tolls on the Tema-Accra Motorway in the future and the end of the Nation Builders Corps programme, among others.

A particular viral video circulating on Instagram see the Minority MPs hooting at the finance minister to resign. According to the the minority group, they want the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta to resign from his post because they think there has been a mismanagement in his era.

But according to Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, he says it is ‘disappointing’ for people to attribute Ghana’s economic difficulties to domestic factors alone. According to him, it must be duly acknowledged that the current economic challenges in the country have been influenced by global factors.

Presenting the 2022 Mid-Year Budget to Parliament for approval on Monday, he reiterated government’s claims that the present economic woes have been heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. But still the minority group believes he is not doing this job very well and for that matter, they wants him to resign from his position.
