A staff of the Ghana Police Service met his untimely death after he was crushed to death in a gorry accident on the Tema Highway on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the Tema Community 25 Estate Junction on the Dowhenya stretch on Sunday evening.
The accident involved a Sino Tiper truck with registration number GG- 1887-21 and a BMW with registration number GR-772-X.
The Sino Tiper truck was loaded with sand and heading towards Tema when it crushed in to the BMW car which was heading towards the Dowhenya direction.
The deceased, who was identified as a staff of the Ghana Police Service was killed instantly on the spot as his body was trapped inside the damaged vehicle.
The accident happened at about 9:52 pm as personell of the Ghana National Fire Service wetr called to come to the scene. Upon arrival, the fire service officials extracted the lifeless body of the deceased and handed over to the Police for preservation and further investigations.
The BMW car was badly damaged beyond repairs and the Sino Tiper truck also has some damage on the lower part of the head compartment.
Occupants of the Tiper truck were not however hurt after the accident.
