Mr. Speaker Is Suffering – Parliament Erupts Into Laughter After An NDC MP Boldly Told Bagbin This

Parliament resumed today, Tuesday, July 26, 2022 after yesterday’s presentation. Yesterday, Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta presented the Mid-Year Budget Review to the house of Parliament. The Minority side of Parliament however weren’t impressed with the presentation and said it spoke of nothing new except than to add more hardship to Ghanaians.

Today, the Minority led by their Ranking Member on the Finance Committee rebutted the presentation made by Ken Ofori Atta. According Ato Forson, the budget read showed that there were so many inconsistencies. He pointed out a sum of 22 billion cedis which wasn’t part of the earlier read budget of November 2021 and wondered where it was coming from. According to Ato Forson, the failure of the government to amend her ways will affect Ghanaians negatively.

He mentioned that teachers, nurses, students and self-employed people are all suffering. He added that MPs are even suffering. To make matters worse, he posited that even Mr Speaker is suffering as a result of bad management. This sent the whole chamber into laughter as Alban Bagbin couldn’t help but laugh. Ato Forson called on the Majority to lay down their tools if they can’t manage the country.

Aton Forson ended with clapping from his colleagues on the Minority side. They came around to shake his hands and congratulate him for dealing with the presentation made by Ken Ofori Atta.
