Accra Hearts of Oak release 5 players ahead of next season

Record winners of the Ghana FA Cup competition Accra Hearts of Oak has released five players ahead of the start of the 2022/23 football season.

The Phobians have announced that defenders William Denkyi and Sumaila Ibrahim Larry, midfielder Frederick Ansah Botchway and forwards Patrick Razak and Kofi Kordzi have left the club for separate reasons.

Dankyi and Ibrahim Larry’s contracts with the capital club has expired, and, the Phobians were not willing to offer them a new deal.

The same applies to Razak who rejoined the club a couple of seasons ago for a second spell.

Ansah Botchway and Kordzi according to the club, reached an agreement to mutually terminate the few months left on their contacts to pursue other options.

In a release posted on their media channels, Hearts of Oak thanked the aforementioned players for the service they rendered the club during their stay in the capital and, wished them well in their future endeavours.

The Phobians began their pre-season training on Tuesday in Accra to prepare for the next campaign without these players.

They will now look to continue with their careers elsewhere with Dankyi already being linked to newly promoted GPL side FC Samartex and old foes Medeama SC.

Patrick Razak has also been linked to another newly promoted side Nsoatreman United with Larry Ibrahim, Ansah Botchway and Kofi Kordzi also on the radar of several clubs.
