The member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who doubles as the Minister of Information has hit hard on one media house for “entertaining” a story of what Martin Kpebu said about President Akufo Addo on Newsfile show. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah happened to be a former worker at Joy FM as a morning show host.
It all started when Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner made a point on Joy News this morning that President Akufo-Addo is involved in corruption and its related activities reported under his tenure. He added that the recent brewing issue regarding some alleged signature forgery in a ¢10 million case at the Northern Development Authority (NDA) has been left unattended.
This story has been posted on various websites of the media house and Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah seems unconformable with it. According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the media house shouldn’t have posted such “untrue” story about the President.
“It is shameful and totally unprofessional to hear lawyer Kpebu without any factual basis, accuse the President of the Republic of being a member of a criminal syndicate.”
“Even more worrying is the fact that a media house which is to be respected, airs such and happily reproduces it on websites and social media in a bid to achieve clicks and revenues on the backdrop of unfounded insults at its national leaders. We all uphold freedoms of speech and association but let’s be responsible in how we do this” he said.
