Teachers under the Ghana Education Service are reportedly paid for in-service training.
There have been so many complains about how teachers are treated in the service.
The National Teaching Council (NTC) have been organizing training for teachers so as for the teachers to get points for their promotion.
Some of the training costs as higher as Ghc 70.00. Meanwhile, some teachers complain of the fact that even when they pay for the training, the points are not given to them. It seems the NTC are doing everything possible to squander the professional allowance given to the teachers.
Basic school teachers have been told that they don’t do research and so research allowances will not be given to them.
Most of the depend on the professional allowance as a means to do their research.
Since the new curriculum was introduced, teachers have been using their data to do research in order to teach effectively.
It is time teachers should be given the necessary attention.
