The Presidency Should Not Try This ‘Takashi’ On Stephen Ntim – Kwesi Pratt Drops Details

The ruling New Patriotic Party has come a long way as they prepare for the next major election in 2024. What remains is the primaries for MPs and the election of a flagbearer. Stephen Ntim and Justin Frimpong Kodua are the newly elected frontliners for the party as they occupy the chairman and general secretary positions respectively. Many foresaw Stephen Ntim’s victory but few saw Justin beating John Boadu.

On Good Morning Ghana today, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Kwesi Pratt congratulated the NPP on a successful election. It can be recalled that Kwesi’s own station, Pan African TV was barred from covering the programme. Commenting on the newly elected executives, Kwesi warned the NPP big wigs to remain focused and not create problems for new executives. Kwesi noted that he has on many times seen big wigs present a flagbearer to the party without consulting the executives.

Kwesi explained that he knows from history that when a president is about to finish his term he tries to impose a flagbearer on the executives. Kwesi notes that he fears that this will happen and the Presidency will impose a candidate on the Stephen Ntim. Kwesi warned against this and cautioned the party that any imposition which runs against that of the executives led by Stephen Ntim will create confusion.

Kwesi chose not to further elaborate but insisted that deep thinkers will understand him. Well, many are of the opinion that Ntim and Kodua are more inclined to Alan Kyerematen and the presidency wants Bawumia and this might create some anarchy in the party. Interesting times ahead.
