[Photos] NDC File Urgent Question To Parliament After These Photos Land On Social Media

It has been an interesting day as videos and photos dropped of how some illegal miners were treated. According to information available, some illegal miners entered one of the Anglo-Gold pits to mine. However, their activities became known and a military unit was sent to the place. The miners were rounded up and taken through some tough drills that many feel are inhumane.

The Minority under the leadership of John Jinapor today, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 addressed the media and broke the news. According to him this happened on July 15 and the government has kept what happened a secret. He noted that the Minority will not sleep over this. He explained that what the miners did was wrong but they didn’t deserve to be tortured.

In a related statement on Ekosii Sen today, Edward Bawa, Member of the Energy and Mines Committee and MP for Bongo insisted that the Minority are filing an urgent question regarding why the illegal miners were given this treatment when they could have just been made to face the law. He mentioned that the Minister of Defense and his high command will be pulled before Parliament to answer questions on why this incident happened.
