Erik ten Hag offers knowledge into whether Cristiano Ronaldo has a future at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag has all in all a task on his hands. The Dutchman took over at Manchester United this late spring and has been entrusted with hoisting the once-incredible club from last season’s 6th spot finish to ultimately trying for the Premier League, something that once appeared to be their natural right. It will not be simple.

Also, to exacerbate the situation, his mid year is apparently being characterized by two exchange adventures – one approaching and one active. The previous connects with United’s apparently sad quest for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who Ten Hag worked with at Ajax. The last option connects with Cristiano Ronaldo, who needs to leave the club for pastures new when altruistically conceivable.

Frenkie has no interest at joining United not entirely set in stone to remain at Barcelona, the club he’s constantly longed for playing for. Cristiano cares very little about contending in the Europa League without precedent for his vocation – at 37, he’s mindful his time is limited yet harbors desires of winning a 6th European Cup and attracting level with the incomparable Paco Gento the cycle.

In spite of this, Ten Hag clarified to The Athletic that Cristiano actually has a spot at Old Trafford and that he believes him should remain. “We as a whole realize Ronaldo is a top proficient and he will be fit, that is the last concern I have,” he said. “He is preparing.”

“I have set my interest. We need to play with a specific goal in mind. A top player can contribute and Ronaldo is an outright top player in our crew. Cristiano can do that. In his vocation, he has shown everything. The players direct the manner in which you play.

“Particularly players who score objectives since they are critical for a group. You build your group around them. I think we have scoring players and the initial two games [during United’s pre-season] as of now showed that.”
