John Boadu, the incumbent General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, is no longer in that role. He lost the highly contested election held at the Accra Sports Stadium to Mr. Justin Frimpong Koduah, also known as JFK.
As a result, Mr. Kodua, who now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has been named the NPP’s new General Secretary.
Out of the 5,556 total votes cast, The Legal Practitioner received 2,857 more votes than Mr. John Boadu, who received 2,524 votes. Iddrisu Musah received 104 votes, Ramseyer Ahmed eight, Charles Bissue twelve, and Frederick Ansah fifty.
For the upcoming four years, Mr. Justin Frimpong Kodua will be the party’s general secretary. The party fans mocked Mr. John Boadu as he left the stadium following his defeat by hooting at him. It was a pretty depressing scene since, at the absolute least, they should have cheered him up instead of just pulling his legs.
