Fantana Launches Her Restaurant “Acheke Mansa” at East Legon Amidst High Profile Guests

Ghanaian female musician Fantana has opened her restaurant named “Acheke Mansa” at Adjiringanor – East Legon. And a lot of high profile guests were present to grace the opening ceremony.

Fantana whose mother is the NDC Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Hon. Dorcas Nda-Affo Toffey was also present at the ceremony to help her daughter begin her restaurant in grand style.

Also present at the ceremony was another Ghanaian legislator, Hon. Collins Dauda who is the opposition NDC MP for Asutifi South Constituency, Ahafo Region.

Fantana’s mum is an Nzema from the Western Region of Ghana and it’s obvious that her tribe influenced the choice of food and the name for her restaurant “Acheke Mansa”.

What is Acheke?

Acheke is a West African delicacy most popular in Ivory Coast and Senegal but has found its way to other West African countries such as Ghana. Acheke is chiefly consumed in the Western Region of Ghana; mostly the Nzemas.

It is a side dish prepared from fermented cassava pulp that has been grated or granulated. It is mostly served with gravy and grilled fish which is garnished with all sorts of things like lime, parsley leaves, tomatoes and pear.

With the opening of her “Acheke Mansa” restaurant, people living in Accra are assured of enjoying this great delicacy right in the heart of the capital, Accra.
