Ndc Stalwart Tasks Prez Akufo Addo To Render Accounts On Alleged $903 Million Grant To Ghana.

‌A Communications Officer of the Kade Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (Ndc) in the Eastern Region, Mr Godfred Bonsu has charged President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Finance Minister Hon Ken Ofori Atta to come out boldly to explain to Ghanaians about what has happened to World Bank alleged $903m financial support the outfit granted to the country in 2021.

Mr Godfred Bonsu alleged that the said financial support was announced by the World Bank Country Director of Ghana, Mr Frank Laporte but the utilization of the fund has since not made known to Ghanaians.

Speaking to the correspondent, Mr Bonsu said the justifications that have prompted government to go for the International Monetary Fund loan are well understood by Ghanaians.

Adding that it is quite true that the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war are the contributing factors of the crisis confronting the country.

Bonsu underscored that the current crisis the country finds itself is well known to Ghanaians to bear and sacrifice until the economic challenges are over.

But Mr Bonsu related that as Ghanaians continue to make sacrifice, government needs to render lawful accounts on any state revenues that it have taken possession to the citizens for the sake of transparency.

The Ndc stalwart insisted that in governance probity and accountability play a leading role to enhance the trust and confidence that the people have in the government.

Therefore based on the principles of probity and accountability hence he is passionately calling on the Npp led Akuffo Addo administration to explain to Ghanaians what has happened to the alleged $903 million financial support from the World Bank where the outfit’s representative in Ghana announced in the year 2021.

He said Ghanaians need to know the purpose in which such huge sum of money was used for to help avoid suspicions from government quarters.

The Ndc Communications Officer was hopeful that government would react and explain on whether if the money have been used to execute any profitable development to set the records straight.
