Thieves paraded on street with rams hanging on their necks

 

Two suspected thieves have been paraded down on the street at Lwara in the Lawra District of the Upper West region.

The suspects are accused of stealing two rams (odwantene) meant for the just ended Sallah festival by Muslims.

The animals were being hanged on the necks of the suspects while being paraded down the street.

The suspects were set free after they were made to desilt the choked gutters.

A local journalist reporting the incident on Ezra TV/FM’s Ayehu Program on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, said the suspects were arrested by the residents of the community after an old lady blew the alarm.

This was after the owner of the animals complained of his missing rams.

Meanwhile, the regional chapter of the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)
