The New Patriotic Party (NPP) went into opposition from 2008 to 2016 before they had the opportunity to lead this country. Their flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa nearly lost hope after the 2012 election because the expectation of him winning was at its peak. But in the end, he lost to John Dramani Mahama after losing to the late President John Evans Atta Mills in 2008.
They prepared very well with good policies which won the heart of most Ghanaians. These policies include the free SHS, Planting for food and agriculture, NABCO, Reduction of import duties, One District One dam, and more. They were accepted and Ghanaians gave them power in 2016 and won it again in 2020.
Over the 6 years, NPP has been governing the country a lot has been happening and Ghanaians have lost trust in the party but there is hope if they are to do this before the 2024 election.
1. The first thing is about the IMF loan. If they can get the loan it will help stabilize things in the country and our economy will be one of the best.
2. Secondly, is about who the party will choose as their flagbearer between Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanteng. Alan has more chances to win the 2024 election than Bawumia against the opposition party NDC. This part is very important and the party should take note.
3. Who NDC will choose as their flagbearer matters a lot to NPP. If John Dramani Mahama still stands for the party then luckily NPP might win because he had the chance and Ghanaians witnessed what happened. He failed and most Ghanaians are not ready for his comeback.
