Yaw Domelevo is in the news again as Ghanaians react to a viral photo of him hits the internet. Domelevo is a former Auditor General under the erstwhile John Mahama government. He also served as Auditor under president Akufo-Addo until he was relived in a very controversial way. He was first told to go on leave and after he protested his leave was extended. Later he was told he had reached retirement limit and kicked out.
Many claim he was kicked out because he was getting too nosy with the illegal dealings of some government appointees. Well, in a post on Facebook, Yayra Koku, a huge figure within the NDC posted a photo of Domelevo in his new seat as a member of the Audit and Finance Committee of Global Fund. This has sent massive reactions with many asking if he is part of the IMF team set to audit Ghana. some feel this will shake and put fear in Akufo-Addo as he leads Ghana to negotiate a deal with the IMF.
It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Is it that he has been contracted to work for an international institution to audit Ghana or the post is just to congratulate him on his appointment as a member of his new ’s audit a finance team. Check out some of the reactions of Ghanaians.
