One unforgettable diplomatic saga Ghana has had is the message from the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, to the British High Commissioner, Mrs. Harriet Thompson to mind her business and stop intruding in the internal business of Ghana. That message did not go down well with the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Today, the Honorable Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that Ms. Harriet Thompson has been made queen.
“A colorful Juapong durbar in honor of British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson. She gladly accepted her North Tongu title of Mama Dunenyo I. I remain exceedingly proud of our chiefs and queens who jealously preserve our traditions and are ever supportive of our tourism initiatives.”, Ablakwa wrote.
Okudzeto further used that opportunity to tour with her around his constituency, specifically the Juapong Textiles.
“It gave me great pleasure to showcase Volta Star Textiles Limited also known as Juapong Textiles located in my beloved constituency to the British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson, and her delegation yesterday.
Now employing 750 Ghanaians, it is our vision to secure strategic partners so we can revamp and create more jobs for at least 3,000 young constituents and other citizens.”
