A deal for Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer would not “fit with our mentality,” according to Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn.
Bayern, Chelsea, and Napoli have all been mentioned as possible destinations for Ronaldo since he notified United’s management of his desire to leave this summer.
Bayern, on the other hand, isn’t interested in the Portuguese talisman, according to Kahn.
According to him, a move for Cristiano Ronaldo “wouldn’t fit with our concept” despite his strong regard for him.
For years, Robert Lewandowski has spearheaded Bayern’s assault, but the 33-year-old Polish international has made it clear that he intends to leave the Allianz Arena this summer.
Barcelona made a third bid for Lewandowski, for more than €40 million, last week. Kahn has made it clear that he does not intend to sell Poland’s star scorer.
The club also insists that Ronaldo, who scored 24 goals for the Red Devils last season, is not for sale and that new manager Erik ten Hag “wants and expects” him to remain a part of the team next season.
However, the stance is actually softer, although they would rather if Ronaldo left the United Kingdom and joined a Premier League competitor like Chelsea rather than join a foreign team. Old Trafford has an option to extend his contract by another year.
As he nears the end of his playing career, Cristiano Ronaldo is eager to play in the Champions League and compete for significant prizes. It was a disappointing season for Manchester United, who missed out on a place in the Champions League.
In order to spend more time with his family, Ronaldo has been granted permission by Manchester United to take a longer vacation from practicing with the rest of United’s international players.
Sources say that Ten Hag is yet to decide whether Cristiano Ronaldo will practice in Manchester this week or join the squad on Friday’s flight to Bangkok.
