The information Minister under Addo led administration, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah speaks for the first time amidst issues of IMF going on in the country. Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made some clarification about Government decision going to IMF for bailout.
According to Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, IMF is not going to solve will the problems in Ghana, but it is only going to handle some aspects. Ghanaians reacted to the words of Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on facebook.
” We have to mobile more domestic resources to support the economy and we cannot wait. We cannot tell those who are waiting for their allowance from Government to wait untill things are better. We have to find a loop hole to settle all matters.
E – levy is the major source of revenue to the Government. But it suffers a lot of objectivity where people think the electronic levy can solve all the problems. On this matter, e – levy is not the solution of everything plan by the Government, but it is one of the measures to raise revenue internally.
Going to IMF is not going to be a solution to everything. It is only going to support Government to deal with balance of Payment issues”. – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Stated.
