The economy of the nation as at now is at the crossroads on the verge of collapsing possibly if no new measures are taken into consideration and implemented. This includes the rampant inflation hitting the country from the prices of petroleum products to other general goods and services. Some days ago, Ghanaians took into themselves to demonstrate to government to show their dissatisfaction to the current state of the economy which is yet to yield a benefit.
Circulating on social media a week ago was a rumor about government going to seek help from the IMF for which it was condemned as not true by the finance minister as the above decision was heavily opposed by Ghanaians.
Reporting from TV3 news via their official twitter page is a communique released which indicates that, Ghana is finally and officially going to the IMF for a bailout under the authorization of the sitting president, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo. This news has left many citizens trolling the deceit nature of the finance minister who earlier stated that the country is not going to the IMF. This trolling also was dependent on the covid breakdown he gave earlier at parliament hence causing mistrust all over in the finance minister.
Some citizens have showed their dissatisfaction without hesitating as they couldn’t believe what they saw. Below are some of the comments I gathered from some concerned citizens who came across this information:
