Former Deputy Information Minister under the erstwhile Mahama administration and a member of the Communications team of the National Democratic Congress, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has expressed his view on the fate of Vice President Bawumia in 2024.
According to the former deputy Minister, if Dr. Bawumia is even given the nod to lead the New Patriotic Party, the electorates would not tolerate him in the 2024 Presidential elections after a horrendous display at the helm of the economic management team.
Even though the Vice President has not indicated his willingness to lead the New Patriotic Party as flag bearer in 2024, it is wildly speculated that he is willing to take over from the President. If he decides to contest, he would have to contend with Alan Kyeremateng, Kennedy Agyapong, and other members of the party who are equally speculated to be willing to lead the New Patriotic Party.
As the country continues to grapple with some economic challenges on the back of Covid19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, the government’s economic management team led by Dr. Bawumia continues to be a target of a barrage of criticisms which are likely to pose some threat to his Presidential ambitions.
Taking to his Facebook page, Felix Kwakye Ofosu questioned the capability of the Vice President and further averred that the latter would not be tolerated in the 2024 elections after a “horrendous display at the helm of management of the economy”.
