Ghana will be making a 4th appearance at the world cup in Qatar. We shouldn’t go there to add up to the numbers. We should strive to make a positive impression on the minds of people. We must at least get out of the group and replicate our performance at the 2010 edition in South Africa. Bettering that performance will be a huge plus for this country.
To do well in Qatar, we must assemble the best available players to go and play for us. I have personally pencilled a few players that must be on the Qatar train should they be fit and in form and available to play for us. I believe that these players will help us a lot in Qatar.
To begin with, Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah must be in Qatar with us provided he is willing to play for us. He is a much better upgrade on all the strikers available in the current Black Stars setup. I would have preferred Inaki Williams but from all indications and reports, he is not willing to play for us. Daniel Kofi Kyereh is also another player that must be in Qatar if he is fit. He has been one of the best-performing players since he joined the Black Stars.
Mohammed Kudus is also another player with great potential and abilities that will be of help to us at the World cup. Even though he is a bit indecisive and over-expresses himself sometimes, he is still a great asset to have. Manaf Nurudeen is also a goalkeeper I would be more than happy to see in Qatar. Goalkeeping has been a major problem for us since the retirement of Richard Kingston. Manaf is a very good keeper.
His performance against Chile in the Kirin Cup held recently held in Japan is further proof of his abilities. He is also very good at penalties. That might be a secret weapon for us. Alexander Djiku must also be on the train to Qatar. He is one of our most reliable centre-backs. The addition of Tariq Lamptey will also be a massive boost to our chances at the World Cup.
