Several members of Parliament in the current minority caucus were found guilty of receiving double salary during the Mills/Mahama administration. The Minority leader, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu, who is also the leader of Minority caucus, was sighted in the list of MPs who took the double salary. As such, top NPP personalities took it upon themselves to sue these MPs for “robbing” the taxpayers money.

Amidst the scandal, most Members of Parliament in the majority caucus have not been able to speak or express their abhorrence to this problem. The probable reason for this loud silence might be found in the exposé by the Chief Executive Officer of the civil society group, ASEPA, Mensah Thompson.

Mensah Thompson took the trouble of searching for the list of MPs who also took double salaries to confirm the many rumors and doubts he had. Upon searching, Mensah Thompson has finally dropped a list of NPP MPs who also are entangled in this scandal.

Featured in the list was the Member of Parliament for the Suame constituency, Honorable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu. Per the exposé, Honorable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu received double salary as an MP and a Minister without any portfolio under the Kuffour led administration.

It is true that nobody can hide secrets forever and this is a classical example. So one might wonder or attribute the silence of the Majority leader on the double salary scandal to his indulgence.
