Former Ghana President J. A. Kuffour rewards Asante Kotoko GHc50,000 for winning the GPL title

Former President of Ghana John Agyekum Kuffour has made a personal donation of GHc50,000 to Asante Kotoko for winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, GPL title.

Mr Kuffour made the presentation when the management, technical staff and playing body paid a courtesy call on him at his residence to present him the trophy they won in the just ended competition.

President Kuffour is a former chairman of Asante Kotoko having led the club in the late 1980’s to the early 1990’s.

The current management of the club therefore taught it wise to present him the trophy they won after their dominant displays this season.

Asante Kotoko dominated the campaign on their way to winning the title, their first since the season of 2013/14.

“The Porcupine Warriors you are. You conquer both home and abroad. This is what has happened this year and we cannot congratulate you enough. Coaches, handlers, supporters and of course the players and this achievement also happened under a dynamic youthful chairman”, President Kuffour said.

President Kuffour also urged them to do well to retain the title next season and also look to do well in their African campaign where Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
