Popular investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni following the much talked about National Cathedral has commented that if we were in a civilised Country, the David Adjaye’s scandal would have sent some people to jail.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 20th June 2022, Mannaseh wrote;
“This David Adjaye scandal should send some people to jail if we were in a civilised country”.
Background
News circulating has it that in 2021, the Akufo-Addo /Bawumia government paid over GHC 32 million to David Adjaye’s, a Ghanaian British architect for consultancy services on the construction of the national cathedral.
The Gay-LGBTQI advocate, David Adjaye’s part of the scandal appears to be the last straw of the never-ending chain of scandals engulfing the national Cathedral Project.
The Project was initially designed to cost $100 million but the Finance Ministry now says it will cost $350 million.
The MP for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto has leaked some documents showing that the monies paid were through single source. Following that, people believe there might be some shady deals. Mannaseh Azure comments comes as a background to the above.
