“We have the competent men”. This nearly became the motto of the New Patriotic Party in the run up to the 2016 election. But what do we see now? The refusal of Nana Addo to reshuffle or allocate the right people to the right portfolio? It seems the President had had some commitment with some NPP personalities so he is finding it hard to sack some poor performing ministers. It will be an unfair statement to say that Ken Ofori-Atta has done nothing in that ministry. But it will be equally unfair if one says that Ken Ofori-Atta has performed spectacularly. The refusal of Nana Addo to sack the Finance Minister up to now despite the call from key stakeholders is contradictory the earlier statement they made.
Today, Omanhene queried the President on why the Minister is at post despite his display of “incompetence”.
He should be severely punished so that Akufo-Addo will know that indeed he’s doing a very bad job. And the Presudent can call him a fantastic finance minister?? Oh Mr. President give us a break, he’s not doing well at all. He’s always quoting quotations from the Bible but we don’t see anything.”
