St. Augustines’ college senior secondary school is one of the biggest second cycle institutions worth celebrating.
The school started in a town called Amissano, near Elmina. in 1930 in the said village.
The prime aim was for the school to serve as the training ground for teachers. Thus, it was established to produce teachers who were in high demands to cater for the numerous learners in the various government basic schools.
The College’s ground and playing field is about 130 acres.
The school’s land area is bounded by the Fosu Lagoon and the Adisadel estates.
Augustine’s Practice Junior High School, the Catholic Education Unit, etc are all to the West of the School.
