Father’s Day: Thank You To These Five Political Fathers Of Ghana

Today is Father’s day and it is worth it to appreciate and honor some fathers in the political scene. Their experience and achievements in the political scene are undeniable irrespective of the fact that they have affiliated themselves to some political parties. In appreciating and honoring them, every Ghanaian must see and recognize their achievements from an objective stance. Without much Ado, let us go straight to the list.

1. Johnson Asiedu Nketsia

Undoubtedly, this man is the General of Ghanaian Politics. His journey in Ghanaian Politics, despite his affiliation to the National Democratic Congress has helped developed the democracy of the country, Ghana. An today, we honor him and tell him that Ghanaian upcoming youth are willing to tap into his rich wealth of experience.

2. John Agyekum Kuffuor

Putting aside the fact that he was once President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kuffuor has demonstrated his prowess in Ghanaian Politics to the extent that individuals from the opposition National Democratic Congress deem it necessary to honor and respect him always.

3. Otumfour Osei Tutu

That man has worked with several governments and under his tenure as King, there has not been any report of partiality or biasness against or for any political party. Irrespective of the fact that he rules over the region that is known as the stronghold of the NPP, Otumfour has always criticized the NPP whenever his convictions that something is going on wrong is quickened.

4. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo

The President of the land, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is inarguably, one of the most experienced politician of the land. His experience can be dated back to the times when he was attorney general, times when he led the Kumi Preko demonstration, times when he was Member of Parliament, amongst others. It is a fact that the criticisms that are been channeled to his office now will cease if he leaves office. Actually, subsequent Presidents will consult him to tap his pool of advice.

5. Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin

Had he not resigned from contesting the position of Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin would have been the repository of Parliamentary proceedings and standing orders since he would have been the standing longest serving member of Parliament. Thus, it comes as a surprise everytime to me when people challenge the intelligence of Speaker Alban Bagbin.
