As the popular saying goes; “He that is down needs fear no fall; he that is low have no pride. and the humble shall forever have God to be his guide”, Just be with what you have, and the world will be a peaceful place for us all”.
In simple term; If you have nothing, you cannot lose anything by taking a risk.When you are already down, why do you fear a fall? Because the fear of fall, is for only those who are up.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP); since assuming office has been noted for their continues fear of falling; The party fears losing terribly in the next elections, due to their own short falls. There are many pressing issues currently over-weighing us as a country, which the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has to focus attention on; but they have rather fallen to what the old adage described, as the ‘misplaced priority’, or the ‘Job deviation’.
President Nana Addo and the New Patriotic party (NPP), prior to ascending the seat of government, was known as the ‘party of visions’. The then NPP candidate Nana Addo, was tagged as ‘the God sent Moses’, coming to rescue Ghana from ‘scorching’ leadership of the then president John Mahama, and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government.
Today, seeing everything going on in this country; high petroleum prices, high cost of food and services, the continues growing unemployment, the failed promises and the deviated priorities; one can say nothing, but to conclude, that the Nana Addo Bawumia Government is the direct opposite of the ‘God Sent Moses’.
As the saying goes; ‘no one takes-in medicine for a sick person’. We all live in the country, and can see, hear and feel the heat. You dont need anybody telling you, that the NPP Government, led by President Nana Addo, can now be liken to the Biblical Jonah, who was sent to preach to the people of Ninebeh, to help them escape God’s anger…but tried to run away from God’s instruction.
Moses we all know was tasked by God to rescue the country Israel, from its sufferings in Egypt under Kings Pharaoh, and he successfully delivered them. After that…God was pleased with him.
Jonah on the other hand failed God; he deviated, changed directions by his own authority and selfish reason (just as the NPP government is doing now), and God brought him down into the tummy of the great wale.
The three main points in Nana Addo’s 2016 promises which touched many Ghanaians, were the issues of corruption, the living conditions of Ghanaians and saving of the public purse.
The then NPP candidate Nana Addo, in the time of the NDC, lunched a ‘horrible attack’, on the then Mahama-NDC government, for their corrupt practices; and promised, that he was coming to deliver Ghana from corruptions. Today we wonder…what he meant by corruption in 2016. Because currently, the Nana Addo-Bawumia government itself, can be said to be the ‘real definition of corruption.
During his 2016 campaigns, Nana Addo gave so much hope to Ghanaians, promising to rescue us from the too many taxes, sufferings and high cos of living under the then John Mahama-NDC government. Today, the NPP government led by Nana Addo, has introduced more taxes, increased petroleum prices, and adding more sufferings to the existing ones. The living conditions under the current government can be described as the worst ever in the history of the fourth republic..
The ongoing construction of the so-called National Cathedral ‘crowned it all’, as its construction, can be described as the biggest example of what we call a misplaced priority under the Nana Addo led government.
When the same God’s people; you are supposed to lead to the ‘promise land’ are suffering, you are busy building a house to please God. How do you please God, when His Children; who have been placed in your care, are suffering?
The NPP party at the moment, can be said to have been ‘caught up it its own trap’, because the very things they attacked the previous government for (like corruptions, saving public purse, taxing the poor, high cost of living and many more), are being repeated by them.
Situations in the country has revealed that, the Nana Addo Bawumia government is gradually falling, with no immediate strategy available for them. The Government must wake up from its slumber, and begin to act. All these talk about building National Cathedral, defending the wrong, hooting of horns and blowing of own trumpets must end, or else they will be making history; as the only government in the fourth republic of Ghana, who says one thing, but means another.
