Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Prosper Ogum Nartey, has attributed the season’s league triumph to discipline and proper application of knowledge.
Ogum, who took charge of The Porcupine Warriors during the season acknowledged the player’s contribution to tactical implementation that helped the Kumasi based side clinch the premier league after 8year drought. “Is all about discipline and application of knowledge. Our discipline in terms of our training and then discipline in terms of our games then application of the training into the game.
That’s why I said, I’m so proud of these gentlemen because we just came together 10months ago and look at the sort of football they are playing. Their humility towards the course, their dedication, the sort of respect towards authority amongst themselves, it has been amazing”, he noted. Ogum, therefore stressed on the need for squad augmentation as his side prepare for impending CAF African Champions League. “We need to work harder than we have worked. Now we are national champions. We are going international and there, the quality is higher so we need to train harder and positions we think we need to augment, as quickly as possible.
Players that we have identified, we have to engage them. I mean the game module, they’ve been able to implement it and I think is all about discipline and applicantion of knowledge”, he concluded.
