David Adjaye must return the 32 million cedis paid to him – Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The member of Parliament for North Tongu Okudzeto Ablakwa is appealing to the architect behind the design of the national cathedral Sir David Adjaye to return the 32 million cedis government has paid him. If he doesn’t do so now, he will pay when the NDC comes to power. He believes that the circumstances under which he received the said amount were not right. This is because the public procurement law was not followed.

He said “And you must also bear in mind that David Adjaye was given this contract without the recourse in the Public Procurement Law. So then you don’t take out public funds if he has to, if he doesn’t return it now, he will certainly return it when the NDC comes to power”. He is convinced that a lot of atrocities are being committed concerning the construction of the national cathedral. He also said that they will use all available means to ensure that the right things are done.

The issues surrounding the national cathedral construction are becoming too much. Government must come clear on all issues raised if they want Ghanaians to trust them.
