The food and drugs authority (FDA) has issued a statement regarding investigations that were carried out at some branches of Marwako restaurant. They have confirmed that the Abelemkpe, La and East Lagon branches still remains closed.
The FDA confirmed that food samples that were taken from the Marwako restaurant were contaminated. They also confirmed that the sanitation and hygiene levels of the area where food is prepared in the restaurant appears to be very poor. It was also confirmed that they had poor storage practices.
The FDA has made it known that they were not able establish the root cause of the food poisoning due to the fact that some food item were destroyed by the management of the restaurant. They wrote that “the process to establish the root cause of the contamination has been unfortunately hampered by the unilateral decision of the management of Marwako to destroy some of the food items whilst investigations were in progress.”Credit: https://twitter.com/fdaghana/status/1536391134162853889?s=20&t=YOgq4sxEz_EmF8xQjsmwyA
