The Vice President, his excellency Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumiah has revealed that today is one of his very happy days. Bawumiah aside his brawls with Ghanaians over failed promises and overly calculated budgets and the use of scary or big grammar has been faithful to his party and his office. For a person who served the country in many prestigious positions even before he gained the opportunity as the Vice President, we can see or say that he has worked hard and has tried his best to do the needful. Bawumiah has served well but one of the major problems of the Vice President which according to him has led to his interest in ensuring that these issues are solved are in the northern region.
The norther region is one of the regions in Ghana which has the potentials of supplying the country with rich soil for agriculture. Most of our foods, cereals to be precise have been produced by people in the northern region. Northern region has a higher share in the produce that Ghana gains yearly and this makes them very important to the economy of this country. But sadly, improper roads have caused several issues and delayed progress.
A bridge which has been a major project of this government between Misio and Wuyima in the northern region is at a very promising stage. According to the Vice President, the progress of this project is what has made him very happy today. He stated that this is one of the happiest days in his life because there will be a massive reduction in about four hours journey between these two towns to a 40 minutes journey when the bridge is completed. And even though this has been necessary since independence, no government ever thought of making this bridge or prioritizing this major issue of the people in these towns and it’s surrounding towns as well.
