It’s unusual in this era for a teenager to get married due to the belief that during the teenage years, one is not matured or equipped enough to deal with the responsibility and pressures of marriage.
In as much as, this belief is arguable. It has become an accepted culture around the world. Rarely do we see a teen couple getting married. Usually, if a teen wants to tie the knot, it’s with a much older partner.
However, two teenage love birds decided not to be conformist to societal standards. They decided to get married and went through with it.
A young boy by the name of Wiyaul and his 15-year-old wife by the name of Biel defied the norm to pursue their teen love by getting married in a town in Ethiopia called Gambella. According to the report shared by Delano TV, the young got the blessings from both parents and religious leaders to marry.
Images of their union surfaced on social media and received varying reactions.
